Inspiration Is A Sudden Brilliant, Creative Idea That Is A Message Of Your Soul
Are you feeling stuck? Is your life stagnating? Are you having a hard time determining where to go next or what to focus your time and energy on? Opening yourself up to receiving inspiration from God, Spirit, the Universe, the Cosmic Conscious or the message of your soul, may be what is missing from your forward movement and increased growth.
When we are inspired, we are aroused, enlivened and stimulated to take action. The emotional response we experience to what feels like a divine influence can propel us forward. We may take on tasks we may have thought unattainable in the past. It can ignite the fire of our passion or motivate us into doing something important to us – something dear to our heart. All we have to do is tune into the message of your soul.
How Our Inspiration Works
The mechanism of asking and receiving of guidance via our inspiration works 100% of the time. They say “when you ask a question, you always get an answer”. This is the vehicle of inspiration and one way to tap into the message of your soul. Unless there is a predisposing question or issue we are looking to resolve we would not be inspired to write a book, to create a work of art, take a class or even exercise. Our inspiration is always an answer to our prayers.
We receive inspiration via the 7th chakra. The chakras are energy centers that run up and down the spine. Their job is to send, receive and assimilate energy and information. The 7th chakra rests on the top of our heads and connects us to the divine, to source.
When we feel inspired, the 7th chakra opens and we effortlessly receive guidance from a higher source. There is also a level of calm clarity surrounding the subject of our inspiration. While we may not have all the answers in that moment, the direction, the goal or task being presented always feels right to us on a soul level – that is, until the rest of us gets involved and sabotages it.
What Keeps Us From Connecting To The Messages Of Our Soul
A number of things can interfere with our ability to connect to the messages of our soul and act upon our inspiration. We might envision the task, the goal or concept as being unreal or unattainable. Instead of considering the idea, we might write it off right from the start. If our inspiration seems cogent, we may begin to talk ourselves out of it. We allow our inner doubts, judgments and lack of belief in ourselves to turn what was once gold into led.
Sometimes the subject of our inspiration seems perfect. Internally, we decide to follow the inner guidance our soul offers. We begin to think, plan and manipulate the idea around in our heads. But then inevitably a time comes when we have to implement it.
Potential Pitfalls When Tapping Into The Message Of Your Soul
As we look to realign our energies in order to support the work ahead we can get caught in our soulda, woulda’s, coulda’s. We find that we are unable to break our energy free from the responsibilities of life, real or imagined. These perceived responsibilities tell us that we don’t have enough time, energy or resources to expend, thus shutting down our forward movement.
At other times, we might be all fired up to incorporate this great new and exciting thing into our lives and regardless of our best intentions for some reason our get up and go, got up and left us high and dry. We are unable to exert the energy required to do anything.
Fear is most often the driving emotion when we are unable to bring our dreams into reality. We fear it is unattainable. We fear that we are not capable. We fear that we will lose control or we will fail. With so much potential fear interfering with our ability to achieve our goals you may ask – well why even bother paying attention to the message of our soul offers or any inspiration we receive at all?
Our History Of Feeling Inspired
Where would we be if we were not open to receiving inspiration? Cavemen wouldn’t have chipped away at rocks to make our first tools. There would be no pyramids and there would be an empty field where Stonehenge stands today. We would still think the world was flat and the thought of walking on the moon a fantasy. We would not be able to look upon the smile of the Mona Lisa or be enthralled when we hear Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Progress, whether through art or industry would come to a grinding halt that is if it ever got started at all.
Inspiration is what drives us forward. It transforms dreams into reality. It provides us with hope and is a vehicle for transcending ourselves and our current condition. Best of all, it is something that comes build into each of us.
How To Connect To Our Soul & Our Inspiration
You can learn to open ourselves up to connecting to the message of your soul and receiving the guidance your inspiration provides. We have all had situations in which we were trying to resolve some kind of a problem. Then out of nowhere, even in our sleep, we are provided with an answer. This is our inspiration at work.
The first step is to ask a question. This can be in any area of your life in which you are seeking insights to a problem or issue in which you need guidance. Bring that question into your heart, in the area of the 4th chakra, the heart center. Feel it deep within your being. Allow the question or issue to fill your. Check into your body to see if it feels congruent to you.
Once complete, just let it go. Set the intention that it will be answered with your highest good in mind. Then give it time. Do not expect to have an answer in 5 minutes. It does not work that way. It does not work on our time, but its own. And when it is ready to reveal its response whether in an hour, a day or even a week, be ready to receive it.
Inspiration: How Our Soul Responds To Our Questions
Our inspiration might come in the form of a thought that seems to appear out of the blue. We might see something on TV or read something in a book that gives us the knowledge we are seeking. It may be that we are talking to a complete stranger and for whatever reason the conversation provides you with the answers you need.
The important part is to not edit, invalidate or otherwise poo-poo where it may be coming from. Instead accept it with open arms. Receive it as a message of your soul trying to communicate with you!
This is not to say that we should act on everything we seem inspired to do. Actually, that would be bad. However, once you have a direction, an idea or point of reference in mind, you can easily check the veracity it.
Verifying Our Inspiration
With a potential answer in hand, bring the answer down into your heart center at the 4th chakra. This is where we can verify if it is a message of your soul. Check in with yourself to see how it feels. Does it feel good to you or is there a part of you having a problem with it.
When we do not feel congruent with the answer we received, perhaps the concept is not right for us. Maybe we are experiencing fear in some aspect of our being.
To help find the underlying cause of your resistance, ask your body a series of questions such as:
“What benefit is this to me?”
“What part of me that is having trouble with this?”
“Is this the right direction for me to be heading?”
“Is this something that is achievable and if not why?”
“Is there anything that is getting in my way that needs to be addressed before I move forward with this?”
Allow yourself to sort out the answer to these questions. If other questions or issues come up for you as you work through this process, ask those as well. There is no limit to what you can ask yourself.
The Dr. Rita Rule On Inspiration
I would like to share a Dr. Rita Rule with you… A “yes”, its yes and a “No, its no. If as you ask yourself a questions and you get a maybe or a I don’t know, then there is either a part of you that is not fully congruent with the idea. The confusion creeps in when we try to rationalize it to ourselves and then change the answer into a yes.
As you begin to work with this process on a regular basis, you may find that the amount of time it will take to receive and then act on your inspiration will be greatly reduced. Like anything in life, practice makes perfect. Once you work through the mechanics of receiving and evaluating information and insights received it will become second nature to you.
By listening to and following the guidance our soul provides, we are opening ourselves up to a whole new world. It may be one that we did not known existed, or may not have seemed possible in the past. By recognizing and acknowledging our fears we are now in a position of stepping out of our self-imposed boxes and experiencing life from a new place – a place of inspiration.
Let your inspiration, the message of your soul, take you to new heights, propel you forward into new adventures or ignite your passion to create a bigger and better light bulb. In whatever direction you are being led, enjoy!
