    Polarity Therapy Balances The Flow Of Subtle Life Force Energy

    Polarity therapy, polarity balancing or polarity energy balancing, is a holistic alternative treatment designed to stimulate and balance the flow of life force energy (chi) within our bodies and our subtle energy field.  It is a form of hands-on healing or subtle energy healing that can help balance the body, mind, and spirit.

    Polarity therapy does not treat a health issue or health concern but suggests that when the natural balance to the flow of our energy is restored, healing takes place.


    The Origin Of Polarity Therapy

    Chiropractor and osteopath Randolph Stone developed polarity therapy.  His goal was to uncover the fundamental and unifying laws of healing.  By studying healing modalities from both the East and West he concluded that all disease manifested from disturbances or blockages to the flow of our subtle life-force energy.  Polarity therapy incorporates a variety of holistic techniques designed to help you achieve physical and emotional health.


    How Does Polarity Therapy Work?

    Polarity therapy is based on the idea that there are three types of currents or energy fields in the body positive, neutral and negative.  These currents run in a north to south direction and are called long line currents.  They also run in an east to west direction and are called transverse currents.  Currents also travel starting at the navel and flow in outward spirals.  These are called spiral currents.  Polarity therapy allows for the accessing, unwinding and balancing of energetic distortions in the subtle energy field and balances the positive and negative energy charges in the body and subtle energy field.


    Polarity Therapy Verses Reiki

    All alternative energy-healing methods are based on the concept that disease ensues because of imbalances to our subtle life force energy.  The differences between all energy healing techniques lie in the specific methodologies used.

    An example of this would be the difference between polarity therapy and Reiki.  Both are forms of hands-on subtle energy healing.  In Reiki, the practitioner sends subtle energy into the body and auric field of a client with the intention that the healing Reiki energy will go to where it is most needed.  This is done through a series of hand positions along the body.


    A Typical Polarity Therapy Session

    A polarity therapist, through gentle palpation, will first discern the energy state of their client and determine where their subtle life-force energy is in need of healing.  The polarity therapist will then apply polarity therapy techniques to the body where energy corrections and alignments are needed and not just in predefined hand positions as is found in Reiki.

    Polarity therapy is based upon a four-part approach in order to help restore wellness in all areas of your life.  They include energy balancing, diet and nutrition recommendations, stretching and body postures as well as spiritual counseling.  Combined, they work hand in hand to free energy blockages and work to reestablish our natural energy flow, which is the foundation of all self-healing.


    Diet And Nutrition

    Correcting diet and nutritional deficiencies are a key part of experiencing wellness.  Providing the body with the essential nutrients it needs is the foundation of any holistic wellness plan.  A body that is depleted is automatically challenged in its ability to rebuild damaged tissues.

    As part of a polarity therapy session, the practitioner may suggest that you follow a simple cleansing diet that is filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, soups, salads, and herbal teas.  These foods help to purify and detoxify the body of harmful substances that may have built up.


    Stretching Postures / Polarity Yoga

    A series of stretching postures, or Polarity Yoga, may be included as part of your wellness plan.  These postures are a series of simple exercises that stimulate and support subtle energy flow.  Gentle rocking and stretching movements are employed once the position is attained.  The positions are designed to help the body to relax, ease pain and stimulated energy movement.  These postures are typically practiced for a few minutes several times a day.


    Mind and Body

    Our minds can have a direct impact on the movement of our life force energy and the health of our bodies.  Negative thoughts can block the energy system just like a physical injury.  Negative and limiting thoughts are like weeds in a beautiful garden.  If left unchecked, they can take hold and overrun all the luscious beauty our inner garden once offered.  A polarity therapy session can support an attitude of greater self-awareness and self-acceptance.  It encourages paying mindful attention to what we are sowing in our inner landscape.

    The multiple modalities that makeup polarity therapy are designed to bring the body, mind, emotions, and spirit back into a state of balance, harmony and vibrant health.
